Boost Your Gut With Ginger Soda

Ginger Soda

  • 16 cups club soda (chilled)
  • 2 1/2 cups fresh ginger (peeled, chopped)
  • 4 4 inch strips lemon peel (yellow part)
  • 1 2/3 cups white sugar
  • 5 cups water
  1. In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, add ginger, lemon peel and water.
  2. Bring to boil and then simmer uncovered. About 10-12 minutes.
  3. Add sugar and stir constantly.
  4. Continue to simmer until mixture reduces. About 15-17 minutes.
  5. Strain out solid pieces from liquid.
  6. Discard solid pieces.
  7. Allow ginger syrup to cool.
  8. Pour into an airtight glass container.
  9. Chill for 2 hours before using.
  10. In a 12 oz. glass, add ice cubes, 2 Tbsp ginger simple syrup with cold club soda.
  11. Stir well to combine.
  12. Additional syrup can be added if needed.
