Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Peppermint Hot Chocolate

  • 8 cups reduced-fat milk
  • 3/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 ground nutmeg
  • 3 oz. semisweet chocolate (finely chopped)
  • 12 candy canes
  • 3/4 cup miniature marshmallows
  • Whole grated nutmeg
  1. Find a large saucepan and combine milk, brown sugar, cocoa, vanilla, nutmeg, and semisweet chocolate.
  2. Cook 25 minutes over medium-low heat. The chocolate should be melted and mixture should be smooth, stirring occasionally.
  3. Serve with candy canes and marshmallows.
  4. Garnish with whole grated nutmeg as an added taste treat.
