Advocating for Your Loved One

Episode Overview:

The physical, emotional, and psychological health of our children depends on the advocacy of their caregivers. These advisories are “normal’ moms and dads like you who are making a difference the world can feel.  These people are real-life everyday heroes who make positive changes in the lives of those closest to them and end up changing the world and lives of many children. There are several ways a parent can advocate for their child whether it be emotionally, medically or educationally. Some nine million children have serious emotional problems at any point in time. Yet, only 1 in 5 of these children are receiving appropriate treatment. Advocacy starts with embracing your child and providing a support system when faced with adversity.
